HECATE HOUSE

Workshop Production at THEATREHAUS MITTE, Berlin — 2018

Featuring: Christopher Adams-Cohen, Kelsey Gillis, Salome Kießling, Carolin Ott, Jos McKain | Chroreography by Andrea Galad | Dramaturgy by Patty Kim Hamilton

A story of self discovery, ritual and revelation, HECATE HOUSE merges the worlds of installation art, narrative play and pagan practice. The play is a collage of genre and form, shifting between themes of American Drama, German Mysticism and Gothic Romance. Its structure adapts to mirror the internal emotional states of the characters as they go deeper into the mystery of the house, and expose the traumas that lie dormant in their bodies and the land. At times chillingly beautiful and divinely perverse, Hecate House asks all who enter to examine the darkest corners of the soul, and indulge their most tantalizing hidden desires.

Setting: A secluded mountain lodge, unreachable except by jagged footpath.
