The Dew Collectors

A Play BY CHRISTOPHER ADAMS-COHEN

created with Athena Lemanska

CAST: 7 + Chorus // 90 minutes

The young dancers of a 19th century ballet company, burdened by an obsessed directress to carry the fading glory of a once-famous dance, are seemingly possessed, provoked and liberated by the queer, vengeful spirit of their mysteriously deceased choreographer. A gay ghost story adorned with high camp artifice, Adams-Cohen’s text lays a lyrical groundwork for a sensational multimedia dance theatre piece.

[The Dew Collectors is] a bawdy spectacle of extravagance and deeply reflective eroticism . . . a particular kind of aesthetic sexuality that imbues familiar forms with a new spirit of queer celebration.
